Important update for DIRECTV Stream customers: KSAT channel no longer available.

Welcome to KSAT News!

Attention DIRECTV Stream subscribers in the San Antonio area, we have an important update for you. As of Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024, at 5 p.m. EST, KSAT has been removed from the DIRECTV Stream channel lineup. This means that KSAT is currently not available to DIRECTV Stream subscribers in the San Antonio area.

However, don’t worry. KSAT remains available for free over-the-air and to subscribers of all other video providers that carry the station, including the DIRECTV satellite service.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and want to assure you that we are working to resolve the situation.

Unlike cable and satellite providers, KSAT does not control negotiations with streaming platforms like DIRECTV Stream. Negotiations for the carriage of KSAT on streaming services, including DIRECTV Stream, are handled by The Walt Disney Company, which owns ABC.

While we would prefer to negotiate directly with streaming services, the current process does not allow for that. We hope for changes in the future to make negotiations smoother and more direct.

For now, there is an impasse between Disney and DIRECTV Stream in negotiating an agreement. As a result, KSAT has been dropped from the DIRECTV Stream service until a deal is reached. We are hopeful for a resolution soon, but unfortunately, we do not have direct insight into the negotiations.

We understand your frustration and are working diligently to find a resolution. In the meantime, we want to provide you with options to still access KSAT programming. You can watch KSAT for free over-the-air with an antenna, or find us on the lineups of other video service providers in the area. Additionally, you can stream KSAT local programming for free on most smart TVs, streaming devices, and mobile phones.
