SAN ANTONIO – A special group of veterans embarked on a meaningful journey to the nation’s capital as part of Honor Flight San Antonio.
Departing from the San Antonio International Airport, this marks the 19th time that the nonprofit organization has provided veterans with the opportunity to visit the national memorials honoring their dedicated service, all at no cost to them.
Among the twenty veterans are individuals who have bravely served in the Army, Marines, Navy, and Air Force during the Vietnam War, collectively amassing over 185 years of service with each of them having served for more than 20 years.
During their trip, these veterans will pay tribute at various memorials including the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, World War II Veterans Memorial, and the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Upon their return on Sunday, the veterans will be welcomed back with a special ceremony featuring a water cannon salute.
