Nacer Zorgani: The Voice of Olympic Boxing

Nacer Zorgani, the fiercely dedicated Para-judo competitor, has found himself in an unexpected role at the Paris Olympics — the voice of Olympic boxing. Despite being visually impaired, his powerful baritone voice captivates the crowds at the legendary Roland Garros stadium, hosting the boxing event for the first time.

Zorgani’s journey from judo to boxing announcer is a testament to his determination and the support of people like his volunteer guide, Laureline Jeunemaitre. Together, they navigate the boxing venue, with Jeanmaitre acting as Zorgani’s eyes, ensuring he has all the information he needs to announce the matches.

Legally blind at 17, Zorgani’s vision deteriorated rapidly, but his vocal talent remained untouched. His ability to memorize and engage the crowd without seeing them has impressed many, including his co-host, Mike Markham.

Surrounded by supportive friends and volunteers, Zorgani embodies resilience and determination. His daily challenges only serve to strengthen his resolve as he prepares for the Paralympic Games ahead.

Despite the hurdles he faces, Zorgani’s story is a powerful reminder of how small adjustments and support can enable individuals with disabilities to shine on the biggest stages. He is not just the voice of Olympic boxing; he is an inspiration to all who hear his story.

As Zorgani continues his journey, we can all learn from his determination and passion for overcoming obstacles. He is a true example of how one’s talents can shine bright, even in the darkest of circumstances.
