Floresville ISD Counselor Arrested and Charged with Injury to a Child
Recently, a shocking incident involving a Floresville Independent School District counselor has come to light. Heather Maire Dubose has been arrested and charged with injury to a child after being indicted in Comal County.
Dubose, who works as a high school counselor according to the Floresville ISD website, was taken into custody more than eight months after the indictment by a Comal County grand jury.
The indictment alleges that Dubose struck a child under 14 years old with a pen holder or cup in May 2021. This serious accusation has led to the charge being classified as a state jail felony.
Upon reaching out to Floresville ISD for comment on Dubose’s arrest, the district issued a statement clarifying that the child involved was not a student in their district and that the incident did not occur on district premises. They assured that they are cooperating with law enforcement in the investigation.
Despite the troubling allegations, Dubose remains employed by Floresville ISD as of now. The district has stated that any further action will depend on the outcome of the investigation.
Dubose was booked into the Wilson County Jail, with a bond set at $5,000. As of now, Wilson County Jail officials have not released her mugshot to the public.
As this story continues to develop, it serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of all students in educational environments.
