In a devastating incident, San Antonio police reported that two people lost their lives while two others sustained critical injuries in a rollover crash on Saturday morning.

The tragic event unfolded around 2 a.m. in the 12200 block of Applewhite Road.

According to authorities, a white Cadillac Escalade carrying four individuals was speeding southbound on South Zarzamora Street when the street transitioned onto Applewhite Road.

Regrettably, the Escalade veered off the roadway and into a dirt lot before trying to re-enter the road at a high speed, leading to a collision with a concrete drainage ditch.

The impact caused the vehicle to roll over multiple times before coming to a stop in a thicket of tall grass.

Tragically, two occupants were ejected from the Escalade and were pronounced dead at the scene, while emergency responders rushed the other two occupants to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The deceased individuals, both in their 20s, have not been publicly identified by authorities, and the hospitalized occupants remain unnamed as well.

The San Antonio Police Department continues its investigation into the tragic incident.
