Historic San Antonio Fundraiser Raises over $1 Million for Harris Campaign
SAN ANTONIO – Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff made history by raising more than $1 million at a fundraiser in San Antonio for Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. This event marked the largest presidential fundraiser ever held in the city.
San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg announced the impressive fundraising total at a reception hosted by Frank and Cecilia Herrera. The event was attended by prominent area Democrats, including Henry Cisneros, José Menéndez, and Greg Casar.
Emhoff emphasized the importance of Texas in the election, stating, “We have to work, even here in Texas. We can’t take any state off the map. We gotta make sure we’re doing the work here.” He encouraged attendees to support the campaign financially and get involved in voter registration efforts.
Earlier in the day, Emhoff attended a rally with Texas Democrats, rallying against Republican voting policies and emphasizing the stakes of the upcoming election.
Despite recent polling showing Trump leading in some battleground states, Emhoff expressed confidence in Harris’s campaign and urged supporters to continue their efforts to secure a Democratic victory.
The rally featured notable speakers like Julián Castro and Joaquin Castro, highlighting the unity and strength of the Democratic Party in Texas.
Emhoff’s visit served as a rallying point for Texas Democrats, energizing supporters and showcasing the party’s commitment to winning key races in the state.
Overall, the event demonstrated the Democratic Party’s determination to make a difference in Texas and the united front against Republican efforts to suppress votes and maintain control.
