The Democratic Party Launches Paid Advertising Blitz in Critical Battleground States for Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz
With a solidified presidential ticket stumping across the country and a massive amount of money to spend, the Democratic Party is targeting seven critical battleground states with paid advertising for Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
The Democratic National Committee announced the Harris-Walz advertising push on Monday, which includes more than 70 billboards across key battleground states like Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. This is the ticket’s first paid advertising blitz since Walz joined the campaign, with many more to come in areas that are poised to determine the outcome of the presidential election in November.
The billboards will be strategically placed in key urban areas across the battleground states such as Atlanta, Detroit, Charlotte, and Philadelphia, along major interstates and highways, including Interstate 95 and Interstate 10. Additionally, there will be advertisements in English and Spanish on the Las Vegas strip.
According to DNC spokesperson Abhi Rahman, “The DNC is blanketing the battlegrounds with a clear message: Vice President Harris and Governor Tim Walz are fighting for working people, and Donald Trump and JD Vance are only out for themselves.”
The Harris-Walz campaign has seen significant fundraising success, with $310 million raised in July and $377 million on hand in August, compared to Trump’s campaign raising $138 million last month with $327 million to spend.
The advertising push follows Harris and Walz’s successful battleground state tour, drawing enthusiastic crowds in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Arizona, with a stop in North Carolina postponed due to weather. Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance shadowed the Democratic pair, holding news conferences in the same cities they visited, while Trump hosted a rally in Montana.
The Trump campaign has also launched its own series of advertisements, focusing on Harris’ immigration record and labeling her as a “border czar.”
