Tragic Loss of 12-Year-Old Girl in Atascosa County
ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas – The community of Atascosa County is reeling from the tragic loss of 12-year-old Miranda Sipps who passed away earlier this week.
Miranda was pronounced dead on Monday, and her mother and stepfather are facing charges in connection with her death, as reported by the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff David Soward revealed that an incident occurred last Thursday evening, leaving Miranda with life-threatening injuries. The parents admitted to not seeking medical help for their daughter until four days later.
When they finally attempted to take Miranda to the hospital on Monday, it was too late. Despite efforts by EMS, Miranda tragically passed away after an hour of medical attention.
Both parents are now charged with injury to a child by omission for failing to provide their daughter with the necessary medical care.
This heartbreaking incident has raised questions about previous service calls to the home and the welfare of the children in the household.
The exact cause of Miranda’s injuries is still unknown, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
