After a month off for the WNBA Olympic break, Caitlin Clark returned re-energized and led the Indiana Fever to a crucial 98-89 victory against the Phoenix Mercury.
Clark’s stellar performance included 29 points, 10 assists, and four 3-pointers. Her explosive start, alongside Kelsey Mitchell’s six 3-pointers and Aliyah Boston’s standout play, propelled the Fever to a win.
The game also showcased the budding rivalry between Clark and basketball icon Diana Taurasi, adding extra fuel to the matchup.
Despite a strong comeback from Phoenix led by Olympic gold medalists, the Fever held their ground and secured the victory, much to the delight of the sold-out crowd.
The night also featured a tribute to the late Jim Morris, a key figure in the Fever franchise, and announced Indiana as next season’s All-Star Game host.
Looking ahead, the Mercury will face the Chicago Sky, while the Fever will take on the Seattle Storm in their next games.
