Welcome to Guardians of the Children: Empowering and Supporting Abused Children

SAN ANTONIO – Guardians of the Children, a nonprofit with a San Antonio chapter, is dedicated to empowering, protecting, and supporting children who have been abused.

Volunteer motorcycle riders from this organization accompany children to court, providing support throughout a sometimes lengthy legal process.

One volunteer, known as Murmaid, shared, “When we come into this, we see them in that stage in their life and seeing them just grow into a victor — and to somebody that’s victorious and is not afraid — and just has courage and strength. It’s just fantastic.”

Each year, the nonprofit “adopts” around 100 children who have overcome abuse, gifting them with a biker-cut leather jacket and a personalized biker name.

The group’s motto, “They call, we ride,” signifies their unwavering commitment to coming to the aid of children whenever needed.

Join Guardians of the Children at their 18th annual “Victim to Victor” fundraiser, happening from noon to 8 p.m. this Saturday at the Helotes Fairgrounds.
