The Indiana Fever Secures Victory Over Dallas Wings in a Thrilling Matchup
The Indiana Fever clinched a stunning 100-93 victory over the Dallas Wings in a high-scoring showdown that saw Caitlin Clark shine with 28 points and 12 assists. The game featured a record-tying nine 3-pointers from Arike Ogunbowale, who put up an impressive 34 points for the Wings.
Kelsey Mitchell was another standout player for the Fever, scoring 36 points and hitting a crucial 3-pointer that gave her team a four-point lead in the final minutes. Ogunbowale’s nine 3-pointers tied the WNBA record previously held by Mitchell and Jewell Loyd.
Clark continued her impressive rookie campaign, coming off a career-high 31-point performance in the previous game. With the Fever now at 17-16, they are making a strong push in the league standings. On the other hand, the Wings at 9-23 are facing a tougher season.
The game was not without controversy, as Ogunbowale was called for a foul on Mitchell for not providing a landing area on a 3-pointer. After a failed challenge from the Wings, Ogunbowale received a technical foul, allowing the Fever to capitalize and score five points on that possession.
Despite Ogunbowale’s remarkable shooting performance, it was ultimately the Fever who emerged victorious, with Mitchell sealing the game with crucial free throws. Satou Sabally and Natasha Howard also delivered strong performances for the Wings, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the resilient Fever squad.
