The Tragic Plane Crash in Vinhedo, Brazil: What We Know So Far

VINHEDO – Authorities in Brazil are working tirelessly to unravel the mystery behind the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of all 61 people on board. The local airline, Voepass, was operating an ATR 72 twin-engine turboprop en route to Sao Paulo’s international airport in Guarulhos when the aircraft went down in the city of Vinhedo.

Witnesses captured the moment of the crash, showing the plane spiraling and plummeting vertically before crashing inside a gated community, leaving behind a charred fuselage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported on the ground.

As rescue workers braved the winter chill to recover bodies from the scene, the world mourned yet another devastating air disaster—the deadliest since January 2023 when a Yeti Airlines plane crashed in Nepal due to pilot error.
