BOERNE – Excitement is brewing in the City of Boerne as they prepare to welcome home their Little League team, who made the city proud by securing fourth place overall and being the second-best team in the nation!
The public is invited to join in the celebration and show their support for the team as they return from Williamsport, PA.
The welcome-back parade will kick off on Main Street, starting from Main Plaza and heading south to Theissen Street, with spectators encouraged to line the streets around 5 p.m.
City Manager Ben Thatcher expressed his admiration for the team, stating, “We want to welcome them home with a party worthy of their hard work and determination that has captivated all of us.”
A special escort by the Boerne Police and Fire Departments will guide the team up Main Street from Main Plaza to River Road and back, culminating in a return to Main Plaza around 5:15 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to bring signs and cheer for the boys as they parade through the streets, spreading joy and celebration.
Following the parade, the World Series celebration event will take place at Main Plaza where formal recognition of the team’s accomplishments is expected to begin at 5:30 p.m., lasting until around 6 p.m.
Local businesses have generously donated drinks and snacks for attendees to enjoy, with food vendors on-site to cater to hungry fans. The boys will be honored by Mayor Frank Ritchie and Boerne ISD Superintendent Dr. Kristen Craft, among others.
Kim Blohm, president and CEO of the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce, commended the community’s unwavering support for the team, stating, “It has been so inspiring to see the way the community has rallied behind this team.”
