The Culinary Arts program at Boerne ISD goes beyond traditional classroom learning, offering students hands-on experience in a real-world setting. Trenton Haddock, a senior at Boerne ISD, is a testament to the program’s success, now in his fourth year of immersive culinary education. Haddock shares, “As the years have gone by, I have discovered my passion for cooking and creating meals for others. I truly enjoy it.”
Under the guidance of Amy Hogan, the Culinary Arts teacher at Boerne ISD, students delve into a four-year curriculum that mirrors real-life restaurant scenarios. From mastering the basics of safety and sanitation to honing culinary techniques, students learn the intricacies of the culinary world. The program also provides opportunities for students to gain work experience at local restaurants, enriching their learning journey.
