Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai’s VIA Rapid Silver Line News Conference

SAN ANTONIO – Exciting news for San Antonio residents as Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai will be announcing updates on the VIA Rapid Silver Line during a news conference following the Commissioners Court meeting on Tuesday.

The Rapid Silver Line is a proposed corridor aimed at connecting the east and west sides of San Antonio through downtown, as per VIA’s plans. This route would span from Our Lady of the Lake University to the Frost Bank Center.

County commissioners have recently approved a resolution to allocate $100 million in sales tax revenue towards this transformative project.

At the San Antonio Mobility Coalition’s 2024 State of Transit event, VIA Metropolitan Transit President and CEO Jeffrey C. Arndt revealed that VIA is on track to secure $102 million in local funding to advance the Silver Line project.

Stay tuned for coverage on this exciting development in the local news, as KSAT will be featuring this story in their 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts.
