CHICAGO – The Chicago Bears cornerback, Douglas Coleman III, had a scary moment during a preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Coleman was immobilized on a stretcher and taken to a hospital after making a tackle on Chiefs player Cornell Powell.
Despite the frightening incident, Bears coach Matt Eberflus reassured fans by stating, “He was walking around… He’s in good spirits.”
The 26-year-old Coleman was seen moving his extremities as medical staff attended to him on the field. He was eventually transported from Arrowhead Stadium to a hospital for further evaluation.
Fortunately, Coleman’s condition improved, and he was released from the hospital and returned to Chicago the following day.
The Bears went on to win the preseason game against the Chiefs with a score of 34-21.
