In a recent development, Amazon has confirmed the removal of a controversial memoir from its platform. The book in question claims to chronicle an abusive relationship between the late Kim Porter, an actor and model, and her longtime partner, hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The memoir titled “Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice, from the Other Side…” caused a stir when it unexpectedly became a bestseller on Amazon in September. However, Porter and Combs’ children quickly denounced the book as a complete fabrication.
Amazon took swift action upon being made aware of the dispute surrounding the title and subsequently removed it from sale. An Amazon spokesperson stated that the book is currently unavailable for purchase on their platform.
The memoir was published by Todd Christopher Guzze, using the pseudonym Jamal T. Millwood. Todd claimed to have pieced together the contents of the book from documents and tapes provided by sources close to Porter and Combs. However, Todd remained silent on the book’s removal when contacted by the Associated Press.
The book delves into allegations of physical abuse, sexual coercion, and other violent acts supposedly committed by Combs. It gained significant traction following Combs’ arrest and the shocking details revealed in the indictment against him, despite his plea of not guilty.
After reaching the top spot on Amazon’s bestseller list, the memoir faced a decline in its rankings before eventually being removed from the site. The controversy surrounding its content and authenticity continues to be a topic of discussion.
