SAN ANTONIO – An officer with the Texas Department of Public Safety took action on the Northwest Side on Tuesday when faced with a driver who allegedly accelerated toward them.
The incident unfolded around 10:20 a.m. as DPS officials tried to stop the driver of a red pickup truck with stolen license plates.
Sgt. Deon Cockrell explained that the officers initiated a stop near Interstate 10 and Wurzbach Road, but the driver chose to accelerate toward a DPS officer.
In response, the officer fired at the vehicle behind a motel. The driver did not halt, and it remains uncertain if they sustained any injuries.
Currently, Texas Rangers are actively searching for the truck, as Cockrell confirmed.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing, keeping the area abuzz with activity and questions.
