Four people were injured after a bus carrying the Abilene Christian University football team was involved in a crash with another vehicle in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday night.
One player, two coaches, and the bus driver were taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock for minor injuries, as confirmed by a statement from the ACU athletics department.
The Lubbock Police Department did not provide any updates on the incident as of Sunday.
The team was on their way back to Abilene following a close game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders at the Jones AT&T Stadium when the accident happened. Video footage shared on social media showed a white truck with significant damage at the crash site.
“We are thankful to Texas Tech Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt, their team physician Dr. Michael Phy, and all first responders for their prompt assistance and care,” noted the ACU statement.
