Uvalde council disappointed in Prado’s report on Robb Elementary shooting

UVALDE, Texas – The handling of the Robb Elementary School shooting investigation results by investigator Jesse Prado has come under fire by Uvalde council members. Back in March, the City of Uvalde hired Prado to conduct an independent investigation into the tragic incident.

The investigation ultimately exonerated all Uvalde police officers who responded to the shooting. However, the city now faces a hefty bill of $80,000 for the work tied to the report, on top of the $97,000 already paid for the report – a result that has left some council members disappointed.

One council member, Hector Luevano, expressed his disappointment, stating, “I’m just very disappointed that this is the first time I got to see this agreement. I didn’t know what was on there. I don’t think this was ever presented to the city council for approval.”

The agreement in question was one made between Prado and the city’s attorney, Paul Tarski, several months ago. Now, the Uvalde city council is deliberating Tarski’s employment in light of these developments.
