San Antonio Food Bank Supports Pet Hunger Awareness Day
As part of Hunger Awareness Month, the San Antonio Food Bank is committed to ensuring that no pet goes hungry. In an effort to support pet owners in need, the food bank is offering free pet food for cats and dogs through a special drive-thru distribution event.
Volunteers will be on hand to assist 500 families in providing essential care for their furry companions. Two distribution sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m., to help as many people and pets as possible.
According to Michael Guerra, the chief sustainability officer at the food bank, last year’s event helped 7,000 pets stay fed and housed by supporting their owners during difficult times. Guerra emphasizes the importance of taking care of pet owners to ensure their pets receive the care they need.
While registration for Tuesday’s distributions is now full, pet owners can still call the San Antonio Food Bank at (210) 431-8326 at any time to inquire about getting food for their pets. The food bank remains committed to supporting the community and their beloved animals.
