Mets fans, get ready for some good news! It looks like Francisco Lindor, the team’s star shortstop, could be making an early return to the lineup after a back injury. Reports indicate that he may be back as soon as Tuesday night’s series opener against the Atlanta Braves.
Lindor has been sidelined for the past five games and has only played one inning in the last seven. However, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza stated that Lindor was feeling better and was hoping to resume baseball activities soon, including running sprints, hitting, and taking ground balls. Lindor even received a numbing injection to help with the pain.
Mendoza expressed his confidence in Lindor’s return as a shortstop rather than a designated hitter, stating, “I think we’re looking at him being a full player for us. DHing he’s going to have to hit and then sit down and somehow he’s going to have to try and stay hot. We haven’t got to that point, but the way we see it is when he’s ready to go, he’s playing shortstop for us.”
Despite a slow start to the season, Lindor has turned things around and is now hitting .271 with 31 home runs, 86 RBIs, and 27 stolen bases. In his last 101 games, he has been on fire, batting .307 with 24 homers and 64 RBIs.
Exciting news for Mets fans as they anticipate Lindor’s return to the lineup. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
