Vice President Kamala Harris Teams Up with Oprah Winfrey for Special Livestream Event
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Vice President Kamala Harris is reaching out to persuadable and less-motivated voters through a special livestream event with former talk show host Oprah Winfrey.
The event, titled “Unite for America,” is being hosted by Winfrey from suburban Michigan, a crucial battleground in this election. Over 200,000 supporters have already expressed interest in watching, with the Harris campaign promising exciting surprises to keep them engaged.
Harris’ campaign is banking on the event having a significant impact, much like Winfrey’s talk show which influenced bestseller lists and gave celebrities a platform to showcase their human side, as well as ordinary people sharing stories of resilience and inspiration. This comes as Harris continues to connect with voters by sharing her background and governing principles, especially with early voting already underway in some states.
Rather than relying on traditional media, Harris has focused on digital engagement and more informal, controlled interactions to reach voters who consume news primarily through online sources.
The stage for the livestream resembles a college campus, complete with faux brick pillars and a backdrop of trees and greenery. Several hundred guests in the audience will be seated on green turf under the stage.
During the event, Harris and Winfrey are expected to urge viewers to volunteer for Harris’ campaign by making calls or knocking on doors to support the Democratic candidate.
