Get Ready for the Lunar Eclipse Happening Soon!KEY TIMES:

Excited about the lunar eclipse on Tuesday, Sept. 17? While it may not be as spectacular as some expect, it’s still worth checking out!

During this event, the moon won’t turn red because it’s only a partial eclipse. But the good news is that it will still be big and bright in the night sky, especially because it will also be a supermoon.

Here are some key times to keep in mind:

KEY TIMES:

  • FULL MOON: The moon will become full at 9:34 p.m.

  • PARTIAL LUNAR ECLIPSE: A small sliver of the moon will become dim as part of the Earth’s shadow passes over the moon, peaking at 9:44 p.m.

  • NEXT FULL MOON: Oct. 17.

  • NEXT TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE: Be prepared for a total lunar eclipse on March 14, 2025, at 1:58 a.m.

Fun fact: The full moon on Tuesday is also known as the Harvest Moon, which is the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox.
