SAN ANTONIO – The atmosphere was electric at Boomtown Sports Cards and Collectibles on the Northwest Side as San Antonio Spurs’ rising star Victor Wembanyama surprised everyone with his presence for Topps Hobby Rip Night.
Wembanyama delighted young Spurs fans by joining in the card pulling activities and even generously giving away some of the cards he pulled.
For store owner Vic Nava, Wembanyama’s unexpected appearance was truly a ‘pinch me’ moment that he had to keep under wraps for weeks leading up to the event.
Reflecting on the special evening, Nava expressed, “This was a very, very amazing moment here at the shop. Something that I thought would never happen. I think everyone in here kind of felt the same way. Same euphoric feeling. So surreal.”
