Record-Breaking Run at the Paralympic Games in Paris
Moroccan athlete Fatima Ezzahra El Idrissi made history at the Paralympic Games in Paris by smashing the world record in the women’s marathon for visually impaired runners. In a remarkable display of skill and determination, El Idrissi completed the race in 2 hours, 48 minutes, and 36 seconds, setting a new record and securing her place in the annals of sports history.
The 29-year-old athlete’s incredible performance surpassed the previous record by nearly 6 minutes, showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.
El Idrissi’s compatriot, Meryem En-Nourhi, also put on a strong showing, finishing just over 9 minutes behind the record-breaking runner. The podium was completed by Elena Congost of Spain and Misato Michishita of Japan, highlighting the global talent on display at the Paralympic Games.
The excitement continued in the men’s T12 marathon, where Tunisia’s Wajdi Boukhili claimed victory with a time of 2 hours, 22 minutes, and 5 seconds, setting the stage for an electrifying competition.
