Enter Au Concepts and Designs, founded by former Oklahoma State running back and Irving, Texas native Greg Gold. With a home office in the Austin area, Gold’s company has become a go-to for teams looking for unique and stylish helmet decals.
What started as a project to give his son’s youth football team a fresh look has now evolved into a business serving over 2,000 high schools in 44 states. Gold’s creative vision and passion for design have made his decals a standout in the industry.
Creating custom decals for the Unicorns and Cougars presented unique challenges for Gold. For the Unicorns, he had to strike a balance between elegance and masculinity, resulting in a design that beautifully complemented their uniforms.
For Canyon High, inspiration came from a painting in the gym that captured the essence of the Cougar spirit. Transforming that artwork into a striking decal was a collaborative process that paid off in the final design.
Gold’s journey from football player to designer showcases the power of embracing one’s creativity and unique talents. He hopes that his work instills a sense of pride and identity in the players who wear his decals, creating lasting memories on and off the field.
