Breaking News: Vice President Kamala Harris Shatters Fundraising Records
In a stunning announcement, Vice President Kamala Harris has raised an impressive $361 million from nearly 3 million donors in her first full month as a candidate. This achievement surpasses former President Donald Trump’s fundraising efforts in August by more than double.
Trump’s team had reported raising $130 million during the same period. Harris’ remarkable fundraising success has left her campaign with $404 million on hand for the final stretch leading up to Election Day, which is $109 million more than Trump’s campaign.
The substantial war chest assembled by Harris will support a $370 million paid media effort for the last two months of the campaign, as well as sustain over 2,000 field staff members across more than 310 offices in battleground states.
Harris’ fundraising momentum follows her previous success in July, where she raised $310 million after taking over President Joe Biden’s campaign. This shift in fundraising dynamics has enabled the Democratic party to challenge Trump’s financial lead, particularly as concerns about Biden’s candidacy diminished.
Campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez praised the diverse coalition that Harris has built, emphasizing the enthusiasm and determination that will be essential in securing victory in close elections. The final financial push aims to sway crucial undecided voters in the upcoming election.
Both campaigns have yet to release full Federal Elections Commission filings, but the impressive fundraising totals reflect the support garnered from their national parties and associated committees.
