WASHINGTON – The Biden administration is gearing up to accuse Russia of spreading disinformation campaigns aimed at the upcoming presidential election.
This anticipated announcement, set for Wednesday, comes from inside sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to divulge the information publicly.
While intelligence agencies have previously accused Russia of utilizing disinformation tactics to meddle in elections, Attorney General Merrick Garland’s announcement is expected to underscore the depth of U.S. concerns.
When approached for comments, a Justice Department spokesperson declined to provide any information.
CNN was the first to report the forthcoming announcement.
