The Navarro football team is gearing up for the 2024 season after an impressive playoff run last year, finishing as the District 13-4A-DII runner-up.
This year presents new challenges for the Panthers as they adjust to the departure of key seniors and a revamped district lineup.
Following the UIL realignment, Navarro finds itself in a district with new opponents: Gonzales, Salado, and Smithville.
The team is putting in the work during the offseason and preseason to prepare for the upcoming challenges.
Senior defensive lineman Kade Pugh expressed his excitement, saying, “It feels good out here, playing with my boys. We’re going to give it our all.”
With a focus on their junior and sophomore players, the Panthers are counting on their young talent to step up this season.
Senior halfback/defensive tackle Kaden Guerra emphasized the team’s dedication to preparation, stating, “We’re putting in the work while other teams may not be. We’re committed to success.”
The Panthers kick off their 2024 season against Floresville at Edwin Lee Field on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
