SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man who was fatally shot by an agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as Sina Chohili Sobby, 22, on Tuesday, Aug. 27. The incident occurred at the Merida Apartments, near NE Loop 410 and Starcrest Drive, when agents were attempting to serve a federal arrest warrant.
During the warrant operation, Sobby reportedly pointed a gun at the search team, prompting an ATF agent to open fire, resulting in his death.
The San Antonio Police Department is currently investigating the incident, as confirmed by the ATF.
No details have been provided regarding the reason for the arrest warrant or any related cases.
