NFL teams are on the move as they work to trim their rosters ahead of the looming deadline.
The deadline requires teams to reduce their roster from 90 players to 53 by 4 p.m. Eastern time. However, each team has the opportunity to add up to 17 more players to their practice squad, which includes a spot allocated for the International Player Pathway Program.
Some prominent players have already been let go, such as wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. He was recently cut by the New England Patriots only to be quickly re-signed by the Kansas City Chiefs. The Miami Dolphins also made waves by releasing third-string quarterback Mike White, who previously started seven games for the New York Jets during the 2021-22 season.
Other notable cuts include safety Ronnie Harrison (Colts), linebacker Deion Jones (Bills), running backs Matt Breida (49ers), Joshua Kelley (Giants), and Boston Scott (Rams), as well as quarterbacks Ben DiNucci (Bills), Matt Corral (Vikings), and Ian Book (Chiefs). Wide receivers Sterling Shepard (Buccaneers) and Greg Ward (Colts) were also among those released, along with defensive back Terrell Edmunds (Jaguars).
Stay tuned for more updates on NFL roster changes.
