Boerne Celebrates Little League Baseball World Series Team
On Sunday morning, a smaller but dedicated group of fans gathered to watch as Boerne battled Venezuela for the third-place title in the Little League Baseball World Series. Despite Boerne’s loss in a close game, the community is eager to show their support and pride for the team.
Jason Young, who attended the watch party at Free Roam Brewing Company with his son Hunter, expressed his pride in the team’s achievement, stating, “I’m just proud that they’re there. They’re No. 2 in the nation!” He commended the team for their sportsmanship and resilience, offering words of encouragement as they prepare to return home.
The City of Boerne has announced plans to host a celebration parade in honor of the team’s accomplishments. The parade is scheduled to start around 4:45 p.m. on Monday, with the route spanning from Main Plaza to River Road.
Attendees are encouraged to line Main Street between Main Plaza and Thiessen Street at 5 p.m. as the Boerne all-stars are escorted by the city’s police and fire departments. Following the parade, a formal celebration at Main Plaza will feature speeches from local officials, including Boerne Mayor Frank Ritchie and Boerne ISD Superintendent Dr. Kristen Craft.
The festivities are expected to conclude around 6 p.m., though timings may vary based on the team’s return. Join the community in celebrating the Boerne all-stars’ remarkable journey at this special event.
