SAN ANTONIO – It’s not every day you see a former NFL player going above and beyond to give back to the community, but that’s exactly what former Brackenridge football star and Los Angeles Rams defensive back, Ramon Richards, is doing.
Setting up free football camps and organizing school supplies giveaways with local athletes like San Antonio Spurs guard Keldon Johnson are just some of the ways Richards is making a positive impact in San Antonio.
His latest initiative involves hosting a football preseason giveaway at the Alamo Convocation Center, aimed at helping underprivileged kids get the supplies they need before the upcoming school year.
With the support of his nonprofit organization, Be Greater Inc., Richards donated $20,000 towards the event and collaborated with sponsors throughout the city to make it a success.
Alongside local barber shops and organizations like SAISD, Richards is bringing together a community effort to provide free food, haircuts, entertainment, and most importantly, school supplies and football gear for the kids in need.
Inviting fellow NFL players to join him, Richards aims to create a lasting impact on the kids by providing them with the tools they need to succeed both on and off the field.
