The explosion was initially caused by a crew working on fiber optic lines accidentally hitting an underground gas main near H Street and 9th Street on July 16. Rise Broadband, the company responsible for the crew, has issued statements acknowledging their involvement and expressing their commitment to supporting recovery efforts.
However, residents affected by the explosion are still grappling with uncertainty over who will bear the costs of damages and repairs.
The City of Floresville is awaiting a final report from the Texas Railroad Commission before proceeding with any formal actions. Meanwhile, residents have been provided with contact information for claims adjusters from Rise Broadband and Rockport Contracting.
Rise Broadband has expressed their eagerness to cooperate with investigations and reiterated their commitment to the safety and well-being of customers and communities. They have suspended operations in Floresville pending the outcome of the investigation.
