SAN ANTONIO – The quick response of the San Antonio Fire Department saved the day as residents of a South Side home were able to safely escape a house fire early Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out around 12:40 a.m. at a residence in the 200 block of East Lambert Street, just a stone’s throw away from South Flores Street and Interstate 10.
Firefighters arrived to find flames engulfing the attic of the house, but their swift action brought the blaze under control in no time.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire originated at the rear of the property and was likely caused by an electrical fault. As a precautionary measure, the power supply to the home was disconnected.
Fortunately, all occupants made it out unharmed, and there were no reported injuries. The estimated damage to the property stands at approximately $30,000.
Both the San Antonio Fire Department and San Antonio Police Department responded promptly to the emergency call, ensuring the safety of the residents and securing the area.
A specialized fire investigation team will now conduct a thorough assessment to determine the exact cause of the fire and prevent future incidents.
