SAN ANTONIO – Exciting news for travelers of all abilities! Morgan’s is set to build an innovative “Ultra-Accommodating” hotel near its renowned Morgan’s Wonderland theme park.
Morgan’s Hotel aims to exceed standard ADA requirements to ensure all guests’ needs are met. According to a recent press release, the hotel will be tailored to create a seamless experience for people with special needs.
Gordon Hartman, the visionary founder and CEO of Morgan’s, revealed that the concept has been in development for several years. He expressed, “It’s come about by just talking to people who travel, those who have special needs and those who don’t have special needs, who are looking for accommodations that are a little bit beyond what the average hotel has.”
When designing the hotel, Morgan’s conducted town halls and carefully considered hundreds of ideas to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive experience for guests.
Hartman emphasized that the hotel will feature subtle yet impactful details that may go unnoticed by some but will make a significant difference to those who require them. Furthermore, affordability is a key priority for Morgan’s Hotel.
Some of the innovative features may include additional outlets at varying heights, subtle bathroom modifications, wider hallways, improved elevator access, and the option for guests to request specific items in their rooms during booking, such as an IV pole.
Additionally, the staff will receive training in disability etiquette, assisting guests with mobility devices, and providing accommodations like hearing aid loops and sensory-sensitive colors and lighting.
Hartman envisions the hotel as a game-changer for the industry and shared that major hospitality brands like Hilton, Hyatt, and Marriott are actively seeking to associate their names with this groundbreaking project.
The hotel will be conveniently situated about a half-mile from Morgan’s Wonderland and will offer a shuttle service to and from the theme park for added convenience.
Construction is scheduled to commence towards the end of 2024, with completion anticipated by 2026. Hartman quipped, “Here at Morgan’s, we don’t let grass grow under our feet.”
Located on a high-elevation site, Morgan’s Hotel will boast a full-service restaurant and a rooftop bar providing breathtaking 360-degree views of the city stretching all the way to the Hill Country.
