SAN ANTONIO – It seems like the scorching Texas heat is taking a toll on yet another San Antonio Independent School District campus. Hot Wells Middle School, located in the 400 block of Hot Wells Boulevard, faced cooling issues on a hot Friday afternoon, the district confirmed.
Concerned parents reached out to KSAT to express their frustrations before the district’s confirmation of the HVAC problem at the school.
The district mentioned that they were already in the process of addressing the school’s HVAC system when a separate catastrophic issue exacerbated the problem. However, ensuring student safety was the top priority, so they promptly moved the students to the gym to keep them cool.
To keep parents informed, the district spokesperson stated that parents were welcome to pick up their children early if they wished, but otherwise, students would be dismissed at the regular time at the end of the day.
