Barcelona Police Detain Fourth Suspect in Attack on Father of Soccer Star Lamine Yamal
Police in Barcelona have detained a fourth man accused of participating in the stabbing of the father of 17-year-old Spain soccer star Lamine Yamal, who announced he was feeling better after the incident.
After the arrest of three suspects on Wednesday, police expressed their gratitude to the citizens who aided in the apprehension of those involved in the attack on Mounir Nasraoui. Nasraoui, who is still hospitalized, took to social media to update his followers that he is “feeling better” and thanked everyone for their support.
According to reports from La Vanguardia newspaper, Nasraoui was stabbed multiple times during a confrontation with a group of individuals near Barcelona. He is currently in stable condition in the hospital.
Despite the traumatic event, Yamal resumed training with the Barcelona team as they prepare to start their Spanish league campaign this Saturday against Valencia.
In July, Spain emerged victorious in the European Championship, with Yamal playing a crucial role in the final by setting up Nico Williams’ opening goal in a 2-1 win over England. The talented teenager also scored a remarkable goal in the semifinals and was honored with the tournament’s best young player award just a day after celebrating his 17th birthday.
