NEW BOOK ALERT: Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced his upcoming book, “Antisemitism in America,” set to release on Feb. 18th. Schumer will delve into his personal experiences and faith, offering a poignant perspective on the troubling rise of antisemitism in the country.
Schumer’s book will explore his journey from Brooklyn to Harvard and his years in Washington, addressing critical events like the Jan. 6 siege and the recent surge in antisemitic incidents. He emphasizes the urgent need for a deeper understanding of antisemitism’s history and context to prevent its destructive consequences.
In a statement, Schumer warns of the dangerous impact of antisemitism, stating, “Jewish Americans never thought it could happen here in America, but now, for the first time, they’re worried it could.” He quotes Conor Cruise O’Brien, saying, “antisemitism is a light sleeper,” highlighting the pervasive threat it poses.
Schumer’s previous book, “Positively American: Winning Back the Middle Class One Family at a Time,” co-authored with Daniel Squadron, was published in 2007.
