Have you ever heard of the midnight grind? Well, the Lanier High School football team not only knows about it but absolutely loves it!
Imagine running through an inflatable tunnel and onto a dimly lit football field at midnight for practice. That’s exactly what the Voks did, and the experience was nothing short of exhilarating.
As the lights flickered on, the team wasted no time in getting warmed up and ready for their late-night session. With 16 returning starters from last season, including eight players on each side of the ball, the Voks are gearing up for an impressive season ahead.
Competing in District 12-5A Division 2, which includes schools from the San Antonio Independent School District, Lanier is poised to make a statement this year. According to Dave Campbell’s predictions, the Voks are expected to finish fourth, securing a coveted playoff spot.
Mark your calendars for the season opener against C-C King on Friday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m. at Alamo Stadium. It’s bound to be an exciting game that you won’t want to miss!
