MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Exciting news for Miami Dolphins fans as Tyler “Snoop” Huntley is set to take the reins at quarterback for their upcoming game against the Tennessee Titans on Monday night.
Unfortunately, backup Skylar Thompson is sidelined with a rib injury from last week’s game, leaving Huntley and Tim Boyle as the Dolphins’ quarterback options for Week 4. To make matters more challenging, Tua Tagovailoa is still out due to a concussion.
Head coach Mike McDaniel explained that Huntley was selected based on his experience and the positive response he has received from his teammates since joining the team recently. The Dolphins acquired Huntley from the Ravens’ practice squad on September 17.
Huntley, a Pro Bowl nominee in 2022, made a name for himself after filling in for the injured Lamar Jackson and leading Baltimore to the playoffs. With an impressive 64.6% career completion rate, Huntley also adds depth as a mobile quarterback, giving the Dolphins a versatile option under center.
The game against the Titans will be a special one for Huntley, who hails from South Florida but pursued his college career in Utah before spending the majority of his professional career in Baltimore.
Huntley expressed his excitement, stating, “Being able to play for your home team, man, that’s just something everybody doesn’t get to come across.”
Tim Boyle will serve as Huntley’s backup in Monday night’s matchup.
