NEW YORK – Senator Raphael Warnock from Georgia is set to release an inspiring children’s book that revolves around a generous boy and a never-ending baloney sandwich, drawing inspiration from a Biblical miracle.
Scheduled for release on April 25 next year, Philomel Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House, announced the publication of “We’re in This Together: Leo’s Lunchbox”. The book, beautifully illustrated by TeMika Grooms, delves into the tale of Jesus and his disciples feeding 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish.
Senator Warnock, a Democrat from Georgia, expressed, “Leo’s Lunchbox emphasizes the importance and potential of communities uniting to take care of each other. I hope that this story, inspired by a cherished Bible lesson, encourages young readers to share with those around them and to graciously accept help from others.”
Apart from his political duties, Senator Warnock, a Baptist pastor, is also known for his literary works such as “The Divided Mind of the Black Church” and “A Way Out of No Way”.
