Tragic Loss: Texas DPS Trooper Killed in the Line of Duty
The Department of Public Safety announced the heartbreaking news that one of its troopers, 25-year-old Kevin Alexis Ramirez Vasquez, passed away from injuries sustained while on duty.
Ramirez Vasquez was investigating a traffic crash along State Highway 302 when he was struck by another vehicle. Despite being rushed to the hospital and receiving treatment, he succumbed to his injuries.
Prior to joining the DPS, Ramirez Vasquez served in the Army and National Guard, displaying a strong sense of duty and dedication to his country and community.
DPS Director Steven McCraw expressed his condolences, emphasizing Ramirez Vasquez’s unwavering commitment to public safety. The trooper’s family, friends, and colleagues are in the thoughts and prayers of many during this difficult time.
Ramirez Vasquez leaves behind his parents and three siblings, leaving a void in their lives and the communities he served.
