Tragic Rollover Crash in East Houston: Two Toddlers Ejected from Vehicles
A devastating incident unfolded in East Houston earlier this week when a two-vehicle rollover crash resulted in the ejection of two toddlers from one of the vehicles.
Authorities rushed to the scene near the Freeport Street exit on Interstate 10 after receiving reports about the crash around 7 p.m. on Sunday.
According to investigators, a Jeep Wrangler and a Chrysler 200 were involved in the collision. The Chrysler attempted to change lanes, leading to the tragic accident.
The impact caused the Jeep to rollover, resulting in the ejection of two children, aged 1 and 4, from the vehicle.
Shocking footage captured by a witness showed the children walking on the interstate as unidentified adults carried them away from the wreckage.
The children’s 25-year-old father, who was driving the Jeep, along with the kids, were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, the driver of the Chrysler escaped unharmed.
Reports suggest that the father could face charges as the children were not properly secured in car seats at the time of the crash.
As of now, no charges have been filed against the father amidst this heartbreaking event.
